Description

The MK Overdrive, our ultimate overdrive amplifier! For many years we have been asked what Victory amp sounds like the Cornford MK50? So this became the starting point for Martin’s ultimate overdrive amp.

The MK Overdrive is hand built in England and no expense has been spared on components, time to build or the many other barriers or confines that can be placed on amp designs. Each amp leaves the factory after Martin inspects and signs each one to confirm it meets his high standards.

Features

THE ULTIMATE OVERDRIVE AMP?

The MK Overdrive is an amp designed to be versatile enough to cater for all gain players, the Clean channel has it’s own gain control and presence and resonance controls, there is a voice switch which adds more upper mids when set to setting 2. This channel has a lot of headroom and is perfect for pedals.

VERSATILE TWO-CHANNEL DESIGN

With separate Clean and Overdrive channels, this overdrive channel offers two gain modes: Gain 1 for Crunch and Rhythm sounds, while Gain 2 provides full-on saturated overdrive.

SEPERATE EQ CONTROLS

The MK Overdrive features separate EQ controls for the Clean and Overdrive channels, making it one of our most versatile and controllable amps to date. Volume 1 and Volume 2 on the Overdrive Channel are footswitchable independently from Gain 1 and Gain 2.

 RESONANCE AND PRESENCE CONTROLS

Each channel has its own resonance and presence controls, affecting the negative feedback loop of the amp’s power amp section. This is especially helpful on the Overdrive channel, allowing fine-tuning of the channel’s high end with the presence control.

CLEAN AND OVERDRIVE VOICE CONTROLS

Continuing the theme of ultimate controllability, each channel has its own Voice control switches. The Clean Voice control adds a bit more upper mid range, which are noticeable through the treble control. The Overdrive Voice control affects both gain modes, adding brightness in position two and slightly more gain.

ULTIMATE FOOTSWITCH CONTROL

The MK Overdrive comes with a custom four-button footswitch to control the channel, two types of gain on the overdrive channel, volume switch for the overdrive channel and FX Loop on/off button. These are housed in a custom punched, welded, painted and UV printed pedal, that is unique to the MK series and continues the families professional aesthetic.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

Each MK Overdrive includes a padded slip cover to protect the Muirhead leather coverings. Additionally, when you order a MK head and Cabinets you get a custom engraved perspex cover to protect your cabinet when you place the head on top. Finally, each amp comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Martin Kidd.

Customise your perfect MK Clean!

The MK Series amps are available to order in a number of custom finishes, including your choice of panel colour, handle, corners & a wide selection of genuine leather coverings. The leather is exclusively supplied by Muirhead Scottish Leather – suppliers of leather to the House of Lords, Rolls Royce, The Orient Express, Aston Martin & now Victory Amplification.
